STORAGE ? SOLO SKIFF HAS TONS OF IT !
When it comes to storage the Solo Skiff has tons of it! The seat doubles as a hatch. When you open the lid it opens up to the entire inside of the Solo Skiffs hull- a huge amount of storage space ! The storage in the hull is bone dry- getting water in your hull is difficult so its easy to keep everything that needs to stay dry, just that-dry. Because the hatch is so large, the boat so stable, and the cockpit open, getting to your items stored in the hull is easier than you can ever imagine, far easier than hatches elsewhere in kayaks…By organizing your primary use items ‘under the lid’ you can have quick easy access too your tackle, camera, whatever. You can take the things you do not use as often and slide them fore and aft under the floor areas as it is all open to use as storage as well.
The cooler doubles as storage as well. You can keep gear inside the cooler knowing it will stay dry as well. Just make sure your drain has a plug in it, and your good. The cooler stays dry in the hardest of rain, or even if you take a large wave over the bow no worries. The cooler works great for storing drinks and lunch obviously but a lot of people use it as extra dry storage. The cooler drains OUTSIDE of the hull, thru the bottom, which makes it easy to clean when you use as a baitwell or fishbox- no fishy smell ! Hose it out / bleach it, whatever, its easy due to the drain !
The deck areas of the solo are wide open to storage as well. You can bungee down items on the front deck, under the cooler lids bungee- fishing poles are often kept here by many. You can place a crate behind the seat, a cooler, gear bag, whatever suits you, it just adds to the overall storage room on the Solo Skiff.
Rod storage is easy as well. With two sealed rod tubes that accommodate fly rods to 9′, the Solo again has you covered. Additional rod storage is a personal choice and due to the Solo Skiffs easy to customize nature, adding extra rod storage is a breeze. See the rigging page.
